After creating game-changing roof glass products in the form of Celsius One and Celsius Elite, we noticed an area that was lacking the necessary statistics to make this high performance roof perform at it best. This area was conservatory side frames. Celsius Clear glass was our solution to this problem. Previously, the go-to choice for conservatory side frames was either 25mm polycarbonate or simply standard clear glass – neither of which perform anywhere near the standards we set here at Celsius Performance Glass.
So we set ourselves the challenge of creating a glass unit that matches our Celsius roofs for insulation statistics, whilst also allowing in more light and offering more substantial UV protection. We came up with Celsius Clear glass – what we believe to be the perfect glass for side frames. Celsius Clear glass perfectly compliments your Celsius roof with it’s market-leading U-value of just 1.0, making your conservatory efficient and a room that you can enjoy all year round.
This insulative power is combined with a light transmission of 61%, a heat reflection of 58% and a UV protection of 73% – making it far superior to both polycarbonate and standard clear glazing solutions. When it comes to glass for side frames, many aren’t specifically designed for the task, they are not designed to be a variety of shapes and sizes and still perform at a high level. Where most glass for side frames falls down is in the heat reflection and U-value statistics, making your conservatory basically off-limits in Summer and Winter.
They usually perform well in light transmission, however often they let in too much light, causing a glare effect. Celsius Clear glass with it’s low E coating, warm edge spacer bar and argon fill is perfectly equipped to thrive in any British weather type, combined with a comfortable and respectable light transmission. It is in this way that Celsius Clear glass is the perfect glass for side frames.
